Bigbank – building the future of banking!
Bigbank is a 100% Estonian-owned universal bank offering lending and everyday banking products to both private and business customers. Headquartered in Estonia, Bigbank has a presence across 9 European countries – operating in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden and Bulgaria, while also providing cross-border services in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.
Bigbank has entered a new stage of its international development. Over the past decade, the bank’s total assets have grown more than sevenfold, reaching €3.4 billion. As the bank continues to grow and develop its everyday banking services, we are looking for a new professional.
You will shape how we manage and grow our consumer and housing loan portfolios across five countries. Your leadership will directly impact business results, enable agile decision-making, and ensure we maintain targeted portfolio quality while seizing growth opportunities. This is a role where strategic thinking meets hands-on execution, giving you real influence over the bank’s direction.
Bigbank is bringing two connected areas – Open Banking and e-invoicing – under the ownership of one dedicated role. Until now, these responsibilities have been distributed across different parts of the organisation. The next step is to bring clear ownership, structure and commercial focus to both areas.
This is an opportunity for someone who understands the world of payments, Open Banking, fintech or digital financial services, and is ready for broader responsibility.
You will combine product ownership, business development, partnerships and cross-functional delivery. Your challenge will be to turn Bigbank’s Open Banking and e-invoicing capabilities into well-connected, reliable services that partners and customers actively choose to use – and into an ecosystem that creates measurable business value.
Importantly, this is not about stepping into a finished setup. You will have the opportunity to shape what this area becomes.
You will take end-to-end ownership of Bigbank’s Open Banking and e-invoicing ecosystems across the Group.
On the Open Banking side, you will develop relationships with TPPs, fintechs, payment service providers, platforms and merchants, making Bigbank an attractive and easy partner to integrate with. You will coordinate onboarding, contracting, testing and production access while continuously looking for ways to increase adoption and usage.
You will also develop how Bigbank uses Open Banking within its own customer journeys – from loan applications and payments to account aggregation, financial insights and automation.
In e-invoicing, you will shape the roadmap, develop the partner model and grow the network of billers, operators, service providers and corporate partners.
Across both areas, your role is ultimately about connecting the dots between technology, partners, customers and business opportunity.
Own the strategy, roadmap, operating model, and development priorities for Open Banking and e-invoicing
Build and grow relationships with TPPs, fintechs, PSPs, platforms, merchants, billers and other B2B partners
Identify commercial opportunities and turn them into propositions, partnerships and growing usage
Develop incoming Open Banking use cases within Bigbank’s customer journeys
Translate business and partner needs into clear priorities for technology teams
Coordinate delivery across technology, operations, legal, compliance, risk and security
Support key B2B relationships and enable local business teams across Bigbank’s markets
Monitor partner activity, AIS/PIS usage, transaction volumes, customer adoption, service quality, and commercial performance
Follow relevant regulatory, security and European market developments and turn them into practical actions
..
There is no single perfect career path for this position. You may currently be working in Open Banking, payments, fintech, digital banking, merchant solutions, acquiring, payment platforms, e-commerce payments, embedded finance or e-invoicing. Your current title might be Product Manager, Product Owner, Partnership Manager, Business Development Manager, Payments Manager – or something entirely different.
What matters is that you understand how digital financial services work across organisational boundaries and bring experience from at least a couple of these areas: Open Banking/ payments, product development, and partnerships/ business development.
You are likely to bring:
relevant experience in banking, payments, fintech, Open Banking, e-invoicing or another API- and partnership-driven environment;
experience in product ownership, partnerships, business development, or ecosystem management;
practical understanding of APIs, integrations, and collaboration between business and technology teams;
experience working with B2B customers, merchants, platforms, or external partners;
ability to turn opportunities into commercial propositions, business cases, roadmaps, and actionable plans;
sufficient understanding of regulated financial services to work effectively with legal, compliance, risk, and security specialists;
strong professional English.
A strong payments or fintech background combined with curiosity, commercial thinking and the ability to understand the wider value chain can be equally relevant.
What kind of person will succeed
You enjoy building rather than simply maintaining.
You see commercial potential and take initiative to pursue it. You can discuss an integration with a technology team, negotiate with an external partner and then bring several internal stakeholders around the same table to make things happen.
You combine strategic perspective with hands-on attitude. When there is no established playbook, you are comfortable creating one.
..
Rather than inheriting a narrowly defined product, you will be able to shape the strategy, operating model, partner network, and commercial direction of Open Banking and e-invoicing at Bigbank.
You can expect:
genuine end-to-end ownership of two developing business ecosystems;
the opportunity to build and grow rather than simply maintain;
international scope across Bigbank’s markets;
close collaboration with business, technology and control functions;
direct access to decision-makers;
considerable independence in shaping how the area develops;
the possibility for the scope – and potentially the team around it – to grow as the business develops.
The role reports to the Head of Daily Banking Area and is based in Tallinn, Estonia. Initially, there are no direct reports – you will achieve results by bringing together expertise and resources from across Bigbank.
Bigbank offers a monthly gross salary of €4,500–€5,000 together with the full range of Bigbank Group benefits and, above all, the opportunity to shape and grow an area you can truly make your own.
Are you ready to become part of Bigbank's exciting journey to building the future of banking?
